SEND/ Inclusion

At Riddings Infant and Nursery School we aim to provide a happy, safe and inclusive environment where a broad and balanced curriculum celebrates our diverse range of pupils and their individual skills, talents and contributions.

Hello. My name is Miss Kamillo. I am a Reception Class Teacher and the Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo). If you would like to speak to me about your child then please contact me on 01773 602767, at info@riddings-inf.derbyshire.sch.uk or come into school to arrange an appointment.

As SENCO I am responsible for:

  • The operation of the 'SEND Policy' and co-ordinating the specific provision made to support individual pupils with SEND.
  • Ensuring that pupils with SEND receive appropriate support and access high quality teaching.
  • Ensuring that you as a parent/carer are involved in the supporting of your child’s learning and kept informed about the intervention and support your child is receiving.
  • Liaising with the other professionals that may come into school to support your child such as: Speech and Language Therapist, Occupational Therapist, Educational Psychologist, behaviour support or School Nurse.
  • Updating the SEND register and making sure records are kept of your child’s needs and progress.
  • The named governor for SEND is Mrs C. Boucher and she can be contacted through school on the telephone number and email address listed above.
