What is Forest School?
Forest School is a child-centred learning approach which allows children the freedom to explore the world around them. It is a long-term initiative that encourages children to take risks, lead, communicate, be independent and to become resilient young learners.
“The best classroom and the richest classroom is roofed only by the sky” Margaret McMillan.
This is the first year that we are beginning Forest School at Riddings Infant and Nursery School. We are developing our Forest School area and now have a fenced off area on the school grounds where the sessions will take place. We are adding to our area frequently and have begun making a sign for our fence.
This term in Reception we have participated in Forest School sessions on Mondays. We have been collecting lots of different minibeasts, working in teams, building dens, making potions and lots lots more.
Take a look at all of the wonderful photos we have taken.
