Forest School

What is Forest School?

Forest School is a child-centred learning approach which allows children the freedom to explore the world around them. It is a long-term initiative that encourages children to take risks, lead, communicate, be independent and to become resilient young learners.

“The best classroom and the richest classroom is roofed only by the sky” Margaret McMillan.

When will Forest School take place?

Every year your child will get chance to access Forest School for one full term.

Autumn Term- Reception

Spring Term- Y1

Summer Term- Y2

In the summer term we are lucky enough to get the opportunity to have a few visits to the Junior school's very well developed Forest School area for some of our sessions.

What do we need to wear?

The children will need to come to school dressed in old clothes. in a separate bag they will need:

  • Waterproofs

  • Wellies

  • Hat, gloves, scarf (if cold)

  • Sun cream, sun hat (if hot)

Take a look at some of the things we have gotten up to...
