Pupil Premium
The Pupil Premium is additional funding for publicly funded schools in England to raise the attainment of disadvantaged pupils and close the gap between them and their peers. (department for education)
In the academic year 2018-2019, at Riddings Infant and Nursery School, the percentage of Pupil Premium (PP) children in full time education is 24% which currently equates to 44 children.
A large proportion of our Pupil Premium funding is used to ensure Quality First Teaching across the school as the EEF states that what happens in our classrooms makes the biggest difference to our children and that good teaching for all pupils is of particular benefit to disadvantaged pupils.
We also focus some of our budget on targeted intervention in English through the use of TAs and the employment of an extra part-time qualified teacher. Positive Play, Lego Club, behaviour management and transition activities also make up just some of the emotional support and well-being interventions that also take place to aid our children.
For more information on how the school use the Pupil Premium see the reports below.
The 2018/2019 report also includes a summary and evaluation of spending from the previous academic year.
